What is the Centre for Policy Initiatives?

According to its Director, Dr Lim Teck Ghee, The Centre for Policy Initiatives is a non-profit, independent policy reform organization seeking to improve the quality of public awareness and discourse on key national issues. The primarily internet-based think-tank – the CPI’s website is currently under preparation and expects to go public shortly - has as its leading members Dr. Azly Rahman, Jeff Ooi, Dr. Lim Teck Ghee and Purushothaman Nair..

What's up with holding this in Lake View Club?

We had a successful outing last year – bum2007, don’t you remember? Mudah Lupa, ke? (REF: http://www.bum2007.wordpress.com/ )-- at Lake View Club, so it’s back to an expected familiar welcome and great feast at what is anticipated to become a regular haunt for Bloggers. Our journalist/blogger, Desiderata has checked out the menu to meet the tastes of the majority of anticipated Guests -- Halal buffet is served there and full conference facilities are available there (plus bum2008 Organising Committee believes we can get a better offer here than the Croc Farm next door, so we won’t risk it:). Please note that the Menu stated below is subject to slight variation!
